College Board announces new digital SAT exams

The College Board, the organization that administers standardized exams like the SAT and PSAT, announced today that tests will be delivered digitally internationally in 2023 and in the United States by 2024.

The change doesn’t mean that the popular and controversial college entrance exam can be taken from home. Schools and official testing centers will continue to offer the exams with a proctor.

“The digital SAT will be easier to take, easier to give and more relevant,” said Priscilla Rodriguez, vice president of college readiness exams at the College Board. “We’re not simply putting the current SAT on a digital platform. We’re taking full advantage of what delivering an exam digitally makes possible.”

The digital SAT will take less time, shortening from three hours to two. The exam will feature shorter reading passages but include a wider range of topics. Calculators may be used for the entire math section, and students will get their scores back within days instead of weeks. Students may also use their own devices like laptops or tablets to take the exam. The exam also will automatically save a student’s progress if they lose internet connectivity.

The new system also ensures every student receives a unique test, making it “practically impossible” to share answers.

CBSE 12th Private Exams: The authorities have released the application forms for private candidates in online mode. They can fill the CBSE 12th private form at the official website - cbse.gov.in. The last date to apply is 20th December without any late fees. Know details here

CBSE 12th Private Exams: As per the updates, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the application forms for the private candidates for CBSE 12th Board Exam 2022. They can apply for the CBSE term 2 exam only in online mode. To fill up the CBSE 12th private exam form, candidates will have to visit the official website - cbse.gov.in. Also, to help private candidates get quick and convenient access to the CBSE Class 12 Board private exam 2021 form, a direct link to the same has also been placed below. 

The option to register for the board exams is till 20th December 2021. However, the candidates can register till 30th December with a late fee of Rs. 2000 per candidate. Earlier, the board released a notice for Private candidates informing about the exam forms and eligibility.

CBSE has also informed Private candidates that the exams for them would be conducted only for Term 2 and not for the current term. Their final result for Board exams would be computed based on the scores of Term 2. CBSE Board Exams 2022 forms for class 12 by Private candidates will be accepted only in online mode. According to the official notice on instructions, no application will be accepted without the payment of application fees. 

Also, to appear in the CBSE board exam 2022 for term 2, candidates will be issued a different roll number. “Fresh new roll number will be allotted by the Board for the candidates appearing in 2022. In no case the candidates will be allowed to appear with the previous year’s roll number,” the CBSE stated.
